NEW PLAYBOOKS: Reducing Avoidable Emergency Department Visits

The Midwest Health Initiative and its community partners have recently created informational resources including a Provider Playbook, an Employer Playbook, and an ED Scorecard of key metrics.  These resources address the high emergency department utilization rates in our community and the opportunities available to address it.

MHI Partners with Four Other Regions to Examine Health Care Cost and Resource Use

A recent Forbes article discussed MHI's work to measure and compare total cost of care for patients across regions. MHI is also sharing information with the region's largest physicians groups on the total cost of care for their patients and how it compares to other large medical in our community. The work is part of a national project led by the Network for Regional Healthcare Improvement and supported by the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation.
